1. Scope*
1.1 This test method covers a procedure for testing of coarseaggregates with a maximum size smaller than 37.5 mm ([1 /in.] for resistance to degradation using the Los Angeles testingmachine (Note 1).
NoE 1—A procedure for testing coarse aggregate larger than 19.0 mm[ /a in.] is covered in Test Method C535.Thus coarse aggregates with amaximum size between 19 mm [/4 in.] and 37.5 mm [1 / in.] may betested by Test Method C535 or Test Method C131/C131M.
1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore,eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.
NonE 2—Sieve size is identified by its standard designation in Speci-fication E11. The Alternative designation given in parentheses is forinformation only and does not represent a different standard sieve size.
